If president Medvedev is making a conscious choice for “big” integration as opposed to the “sphere of exclusive interests”, then there is logic in his current actions. It is then a denial of post-Soviet integrationist initiatives that were caused by “phantom pains” from the collapse of USSR – and gave almost nothing; it is the beginning of cooperation with other countries in the name of notorious modernization. One can easily doubt the viability of that approach, but it has some underlying logic. However, if all we have here is mere desire to pay off the presumptuous partner, then the consequences of such an emotional act have clearly not been calculated.читать дальше »
